Marieās Soft Lino Carving Blocks are a great choice for artists who want to create intricate designs with ease. These blocks areĀ 3mm thickĀ and made from high-quality materials that are easy to carve. They work well with traditional linoĀ tools and can be used whether mounted or unmounted on a wood block, leaving smooth clean edges. The blocks are perfect for designs with curves and tight corners and produce finely detailed, sharp, clear prints. The shelf life of these blocks can be 10 times longer than traditional linoleum. A design can be cut into the linoĀ surface with a sharp knife, V-shaped chisel or gouge, with the raised (uncarved) areas representing a reversal (mirror image) of the parts to show printed. The carved linoĀ sheet design is then inked with a roller (also called a brayer), and then transferred onto paper or fabric. The actual printing can be done by hand or with a press.
